2021 Scholarships

Remaining steadfast to its mission of raising funds to financially support the professional development of Carolinas Chapter club managers and Student Chapter members through education, training, and research initiatives, the Carolinas Club Foundation is proud to offer a multitude of scholarship and grant opportunities. CCM Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award (3) three scholarships this year, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. In order to help recipients meet certification requirements and prepare them for the CCM exam, each scholarship will fund $2,500 to be applied toward registration costs and reimbursable expenses directly related to travel, lodging, etc. for one of several programs.
Damon DiOrio Impact Scholarship
The CCF will award one scholarship annually, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. In order to help recipient further their continuing education, the scholarship will fund $2,500 to be applied toward registration costs to any CCF Board-approved continuing education program (not just CMAA-related) and reimbursable expenses directly related to travel, lodging, etc. (If one of CMAA's BMIs is the education program of choice and the registration cost is greater than $2,500, the registration will be covered in-full and no additional funds will be awarded for reimbursable expenses.) In addition, the recipient will receive up to $750 to be applied toward travel and lodging in Scottsdale, Arizona while spending two days with Damon DiOrio and his team at Desert Mountain Club.
Executive Mentor Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide tuition support of club managers interested in continuing education and the mentoring of other club managers.
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award one (1) scholarship annually, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications.
This scholarship may be used for the tuition cost and up to $1,000 in travel expenses (airfare and accommodations) to attend recipient's choice of one of the following BMI courses:
BMI Tactical Leadership
BMI Strategic Leadership
BMI International
BMI Food & Beverage
BMI Golf Management
BMI Wine & Food Experience
A second mentoring component of this scholarship allows the recipient to designate funds for a manager that they are mentoring to be used for their choice of the following:
One (1) Year CMAA Dues (both National and Chapter)
Full Registration to attend four (4) Carolinas Chapter meetings of their choice
Future Leaders Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award ten (10) scholarships annually, based on the availability of funds, merit of applications and General Manager recommendations. In order to help recipients attend education and networking events, each scholarship will fund $500 to be applied toward the recipient's registration costs and reimbursable expenses directly related to the recipient's travel, lodging, etc. for one or some of several programs.
Honor Society/CCE Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award one scholarship annually, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. In order to help recipients meet certification requirements for their Honor Society or CCE status, the scholarship will fund the registration cost for one of the following programs:
BMI Tactical Leadership (formerly BMI IV)
BMI Strategic Leadership (formerly BMI V)
Leadership Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award one scholarship annually, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. In order to help recipients further their leadership skills, the scholarship will fund $5,000 to be applied toward registration costs to any CCF Board-approved continuing education program (not just CMAA-related) and reimbursable expenses directly related to travel, lodging, etc.
The Scholarship for Evolving Leaders
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide tuition support to club managers who are not General Managers/COOs/CEOs but directly report to these positions. The scholarship will fund $2,500 to be applied toward registration costs to any CCF Board-approved continuing education program and reimbursable expenses directly related to travel, lodging, etc.
YoPro Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award five (5) YoPro World Conference Awards annually, based on availability of funds, merit of applications and General Manager recommendation. The YoPro World Conference Award will fund the full registration for each recipient to attend the CMAA World Conference on Club Management and Club Business Expo, including the Emerging Leader Mixer, along with travel expenses, with total reimbursement not to exceed $2,500. The scholarships will be granted based on recommendations made by the Carolinas Club Foundation Scholarship Committee and approved by the Carolinas Club Foundation Board of Directors.
Wine Certification Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award one scholarship annually, based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. In order to help recipients meet certification requirements, the scholarship will fund the registration cost for one of the following programs:
•CSW.CWE
•Certified Sommelier Examination, Advanced Sommelier Course and Examination
•WSET 1, 2, 3
Student Chapter Grant

Student World Conference Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award three (3) Student World Conference Scholarships annually, based on availability of funds, merit of applications, and Faculty recommendation. The Student World Conference Scholarship will fund the full registration for each recipient to attend the 2022 CMAA World Conference on Club Management and Club Business Expo, along with travel expenses, with total reimbursement not to exceed $2,500.
MembersFirst Marketing & Communications Scholarship
The Carolinas Club Foundation will award up to three (3) MembersFirst Marketing and Communication Awards annually, based on availability of funds, merit of applications, and faculty advisor/professor recommendation. This scholarship may be used for the tuition cost and travel expenses (airfare and accommodations) to attend recipient's choice of the National Student Education Conference or the World Conference and Club Business Expo, with total reimbursement not to exceed $2,500.
Club Manager of the Year
Each year, the Carolinas Club Foundation awards one Carolinas Chapter member with the prestigious honor of being named the Club Manager of the Year. This recognition acknowledges a member for his or her exemplified and distinguished professionalism; dedication to excellence; and enhancement to the image of club management and in the Carolinas Chapter.
