"Nicki Skipper began her career in the hospitality industry as a host, server, and bartender at a privately owned Italian restaurant while attending the University of North Carolina Greensboro in the early nineteen nineties. Over the next ten years Skipper realized that her part time job was her passion and focused on learning all aspects of a successful operation. Skipper’s development in various positions included employee orientation and training, office administration and bookkeeping, assistant manager, assistant kitchen manager, and general management roles. In 2005 Nicki was introduced to the private club branch of hospitality and spent nine highly successful years as the Director of Food & Beverage at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, NC. In her eighteen years of private club management Nicki has gained experience in clubs across North Carolina including GM/COO of the String & Splinter City Club of High Point, Clubhouse Manager of the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, Hospitality Consultant of Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, and most recently serving as the Assistant General Manager of Governors Club in Chapel Hill. A member of the Club Managers Association of America since 2006, Nicki Skipper earned the Certified Club Manager designation in 2015. Nicki is a devoted member of the Carolinas CMAA Chapter and has served the membership by volunteering in various leadership positions as the Coastal Region education and membership chairman, Chapter board nomination committee member, Carolinas Club Foundation board member and president, creator of the CCMAA Preparing your Food and Beverage Operation for a Successful Reopening, Project Manager for the CCMAA Student Chapter website build, and Chairman of the Carolinas Mentorship Program. Nicki is currently the Education Chair on the Carolinas Chapter Board of Directors. She is a lifelong student of hospitality and cares deeply for the development of others in our industry.
