"As a scholarship award-winning student athlete at Virginia Tech, Chip began his college career dividing his time between the Men's Swim team while working as a Bartender at Blacksburg Country Club. While at Virginia Tech, he had the opportunity to explore the club industry more as he completed an internship at Oklahoma City Golf Club before obtaining his degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2010. Following graduation, Chip came home to the Upstate of South Carolina to join the team at Thornblade Club. There he grew into the role of Assistant Clubhouse Manager overseeing the F&B program and a staff of 50 team members. He had the opportunity to work five Korn Ferry Tour events during his tenure with the Club. In 2015 Chip accepted the Food & Beverage Manager role at Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. That same year, Chip also had the opportunity to begin working at the Masters Golf Tournaments in a F&B Supervisory role. This provided him access to a vast network of other club professionals. Due to his work during the tournaments, Chip was sought out by Augusta National Golf Club located in Augusta, Georgia to join their team as the Assistant Clubhouse Manager. Chip oversaw 75+ employees in their respective housekeeping, rooms, transportation, and locker room departments. During the Masters Tournament, Chip was responsible for over 600 employees and quickly learned the value of proactive communication and developing trust with teams. Throughout his career, Chip has also enjoyed working as Tent Supervisor for multiple US Open Tournaments. After more than two years at Augusta National Golf Club, Chip and his family moved back home to Greenville, South Carolina where he accepted his current role as the Assistant General Manager at Greenville Country Club. Chip has been with Greenville Country Club for almost five years where he enjoys being involved within the CMAA organization. He first joined in 2011 and has served as the Carolinas CMAA Yo-Pro Chair in 2020 and most recently received his CCM designation in 2021.
