The Fall Annual Meeting in Conover, NC October 7 – 8 promises to be an exciting time of networking and educational opportunities so please make plans to attend today! The Annual Meeting will include our Chapter Business Meeting where we will vote on the two open positions on the Board of Directors, recognize our Chapter leaders and kick-off our new fiscal year for the Chapter. We will have a formal dinner party Sunday evening at Rock Barn along with Education all day Monday.
Education Speaker:
Our Guest Speaker is Jimmy Westrick who entertained and taught an energetic program at the 2006 CMAA Leadership/Legislative Conference. Interaction and involvement are key ingredients in all of Jimmy’s seminars and workshops. Jimmy believes that people learn best by doing, discussing and participating. His enthusiasm, high energy and persuasive communication skills combine to give audiences a powerful learning experience they don’t soon forget. As president of a firm that specializes in professional development training, Jimmy delivers programs and consultation on issues involving supervisory and leadership skills, communication, customer service, interpersonal relationships, and much more. Prior to starting his own firm, Jimmy worked as a territory manager and trainer for two pharmaceutical companies and as an account manager for a computer services company. His exceptional depth and breadth of experience allow him to provide others with the skills necessary to perform more effectively, develop more productive relationships with others, and change their lives for the better.

For those of you traveling to Conover, NC for the meeting, there is a block of rooms that has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express Suites. The Holiday Inn Express Suites Conover is located seven miles from downtown Hickory, and approximately 13 miles from the Hickory Regional Airport, 65 miles from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Local attractions include Bunker Hill Covered Bridge, Rock Barn Golf Club, and Charlotte Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Hotel amenities include complimentary breakfast, outdoor pool, on-site guest self-laundry facilities (washer/dryer), and health/fitness on-site. All rooms include complimentary local calls, high speed Internet, full kitchens, TVs, iron and ironing boards, coffeemakers, and hairdryers.
We have a room block at the Holiday Inn Express Suites and the room rate is $70/night plus tax. The room rates are available Saturday night 10/7 and Sunday night 10/8.
