Program Summary:
Research indicates that the majority of active shooter events do not occur in schools or government buildings. They occur at other places of employment. Having policies do not reduce risk without training and management of the policy. This training will provide an understanding why active shooter policies are needed as part of the overall Emergency Response Plan and how managers can improve warning sign detection and preventative action. Having predictability of personnel performance of an active shooter policy will not only reduce injury potential to employees and members; it can improve customer service if trained effectively.
