Facilities:  
Cedarwood Country Club is located in Charlotte NC, positioned in the vibrant South Charlotte/Ballantyne area.  Cedarwood opened in 1964 and has grown with the community into the premier mid-tier Private Club in our area.  Our Club provides full-service amenities to our 500+ members including golf, swimming, dining and tennis.

Dining Facilities include our Ron Green Grill, Maples Dining Room, Cedarview Lounge and Turn House.  Food & Beverage Operations produce $1MM+ per year in total revenue including Banquet & Member Sales.  Banquet options range from small settings to large scale seating up to 150 people.  Our 18-hole golf course designed by Ellis Maples spreads over 145 acres and is currently ranked #72 on the North Carolina Golf Panel's top 100 courses.  The 18,000 square foot Clubhouse nestles up to our practice areas surrounded by the rolling terrain overlooking uptown Charlotte. 

Job Summary:  
We are looking for a professional Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience.  Responsible for management of dining room service, banquet service events, dining and banquet staff and bartenders.  Assure member and guest satisfaction through proper food and beverage service and presentation.  Attends to members needs by providing the highest quality service.  Supervise and train dining room staff.  


Responsibilities: 
 
Because of the fluctuating demands it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the need arises, just as other team members are expected to help you.  Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or directed.  The manager in this position must assure high standards of service, as well as provide strong leadership.  This individual will report directly to the Food & Beverage Director.

  • Hire, train, supervise and motivate team members.
  • Assist in day to day operations including payroll control, hiring/termination, training, orientation, and employee discipline.
  • Supervise the Food & Beverage service staff team by directing the flow of service.  Attend and lead daily line-up meetings and attend all staff and House Committee meetings.
  • Approve all schedule changes and ensure that the club is properly staffed on a daily basis.
  • Must have a "Service Attitude"
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director and the Executive Chef to ensure a smooth transition between front of the house staff and culinary staff.
  • Assist in developing beverage lists and monthly sales promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Sanitation & Alcohol standards.
  • Assure the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all dining areas and ensures that proper steps are taken to resolve issues.
  • Visits each table to ensure quality and gain member feedback.
  • Be a leader and coach the team.
  • Have basic wine knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Be able to have fun while providing top-notch service. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience with Food & Beverage Operations
  • Private Club experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate and experience with JONAS Point of Sale system is a plus
  • Good Leadership and Human Relations Skills
