River Hills Country Club is an exclusive, private, member-owned country club that has been in operation since 1972. It is located in an upscale lakefront gated residential community about 16 miles from downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. The club offers a championship 18-hole Willard Byrd designed golf course that was renovated by architect Kris Spence in June 2012. In addition to the highly regarded golf course, the club features a 25,000 square foot clubhouse with multiple member dining areas and a fitness center. The club's racquet facilities include 10 tennis courts (8 clay and 2 hard courts) and 4 pickleball courts as well as locker rooms for men and women in the fitness center. River Hills has a very active social calendar that includes a mixture of programming to meet the diverse needs of the membership.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Provide our members with friendly and professional service, excellent food quality, and consistency of execution in an attractive, well-maintained environment. Providing proper member service requires an employee staff that is thoroughly trained in service sequence, product knowledge while making every effort to meet and exceed the expectations of each and every member and their guest.

It is the F&B Manager's responsibility to support service education and continuously offer a Great Place to Work through:

  • Execution and monitoring of daily line-ups and regular department meetings.
  • Ensure new server, host and bartender training programs are being executed.
  • Assist in development of team member ongoing development and training.
  • Daily evaluation and support of F&B service performance.
  • Employee discussion and performance management including timely completion of performance evaluations.
  • Coordination of timely food production.
  • Participate in BEO meetings.
  • The F&B Manager ensures the team is providing "excellent quality and presentation" of all food and beverages to our members.
  • Frequently inspects all areas of responsibility to ensure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other programs are in place.
  • Produces daily or meal-period revenue analysis and other point-of-sale (POS) reports.
  • Processes member billing; completes POS daily closeout.
  • Provides employee hour, schedule, payroll, tip pool and other reports.
  • Maintains and monitors an inventory of all outlet products, supplies, small equipment, and other items.
  • Assists in Management of all subordinate supervisors in the Restaurant. Supports the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the various F&B outlet's employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues or concerns.
  • Continually works to ensure correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste.
  • Personally, handles selected member and guest complaints and advises the Club Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
  • Greets members and guests and oversees actual service in all outlets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive Private Club/Restaurant experience.
  • A combination of proven experience with all aspects of operations, budgeting, expense management, inventory, payroll and labor costing, staffing, and P&L management and solid leadership is preferred.
  • BA/BS in Hospitality/Restaurant Management preferred.
  • Highly motivated and passionate about quality and presentation.
  • Ability to direct all day-to-day operations in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Leads by example, serving as a role model and maintains effective employee relations.
  • Strong administrative skills; computer use, Microsoft software familiarity, typing speed, composition, and language.

Compensation:

  •  A compensation package will include a base salary commensurable with experience and qualifications.
