Providence Country Club is a private country club and became part of the McConnell Golf Family in February of 2016. We have over 800 membership families, located in the prestigious South Charlotte area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The McConnell Golf advantage offers a unique environment with 15 other peer clubs for networking and enhanced career opportunities. The Club currently has total F&B sales of approximately $2.7 million dollars, including $1.7 million dollars in member dining. Providence Country Club is comprised of an 18 hole Dan Maples designed golf course, renovated in 2018 by Kris Spence, 14 outdoor tennis courts, an active Fitness Center, Kid's Activity Center and three large swimming pools. The Clubhouse includes an upscale casual dining room, member lounge, large ballroom, meeting rooms, two card rooms, outside veranda and patio dining, a very active Poolside turn house and open pavilion style restaurant with approximately $300,000 in F&B sales. Position Summary:
The Clubhouse Manager is responsible for all activities within the clubhouse with a primary focus on the Food and Beverage Department and all related services involving tennis and pool operations. The Clubhouse Manager reports only to the General Manager. Strong visible leadership with a robust attitude towards mentorship and team development. Fiscal integrity and budgetary responsibilities are also major aspects to this position. There are five managers directly reporting to the Clubhouse Manager including our Executive Chef and the Director of Catering. The Club's F&B operations have had tremendous success over the last couple of years and we are looking to continue to build this momentum.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-motivated, highly visible leader and strong team player
  • A four year college degree (hospitality major a plus)
  • Strong financial and budgetary skills
  • Has a proven track record of mentoring and developing subordinates
  • Must have 5 or more years of experience in private club management
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • The qualified candidate must have excellent time-management skills, be detail-oriented and creative, and have strong follow through practices
  • The candidate must employ a consistent attitude of exceeding Membership expectations

A track record of proven hospitality, professionalism and the desire to provide superior member service with a strong presence and solid leadership skills is a must. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to lead a management team to the next level. Candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized and a team player. The successful candidate will set a high standard of professionalism while empowering others to be successful and supportive of the overall operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong food and beverage management background with a passion for wine, food and excellent service. He or she will consistently strive for higher levels of service through staff training and leadership, with the primary goal of exceeding member and guest expectations. The club is looking for a professional who will aspire to the General Manager/COO position.

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package includes medical and dental insurance, 70% paid by the Club and complimentary $40k Life Insurance. 401K retirement savings plan after one year with company match. Two weeks' vacation first year plus six paid holidays annually. CMAA membership for continuing education is included.
