Position Description:
Belfair Property Owners Association is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of CFO in Bluffton, SC.  Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service for our members and guests.

The Chief Financial Officer at Belfair is responsible for directing the fiscal functions and performance of both the Club and the 1,100 acre Property Owners Association. Works directly with the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors in all financial planning, budgeting, procurement, development of long-range goals, strategies and policies. The position also works with various Committees and attorneys on community-related real estate initiatives. The position has direct supervision of the Assistant Controller, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and with additional leadership provided to all department heads and employees.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; or Finance with MBA, CPA or CHAE designation preferred
  • 7-10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years in a Controller or equivalent role
  • Candidates with private Club experience preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates leadership abilities in a residential community club
  • Exceptional technology and computer software application skills, including Microsoft Office and Jonas Club Management software
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and present financial reports to various member groups including Board meetings and Town Hall presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player in collaboration with other departments and to lead staff in delivery of consistent and exceptional services
  • Knowledge regarding typical club financial issues of funding, cash flow, project analysis, etc.
  • Demonstrates critical benchmarking and financial metrics
  • Leads proactive responses to trending curves
  • Metric-oriented thinking and programming
  • Experience in legal and collection policy
