Education Information
The Winter Conference sessions will be centered around the Carolinas Chapter’s 2017 Mission of Mentorship.  We will discuss how to create and utilize mentorship programs for your managers, team members, students, and interns.  We will examine how the various generations are in need of different forms of mentoring.

“In my walks, every man I meet is my superior in some way; and in that, I learn from him.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Speakers

Kym Hougham

Kym Hougham is the Executive Director of the Wells Fargo Championship, which will take place in 2017 at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, NC.  He has served as the Executive Director of the tournament at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC, to which the tournament will return in 2018.  (Quail Hollow Club will be hosting the PGA Championship in 2017.)  Mr. Hougham has served in this capacity since the tournament began in 2003.

Kurt Kuebler, CCM

Kurt has served as a club GM/COO, President of the Florida Chapter CMAA, and as a National Director for CMAA.  He joined Dick Kopplin in 2007 to form Kopplin & Kuebler,  an executive placement / consulting firm for the club industry.

On Sunday afternoon, Kurt will be leading a discussion for our Young Professionals (YoPros) about their careers: developing personal mission statements and personal strategic plans, and creating credentials for their career futures. This session will also be very valuable to non-YoPro managers who need to know what the 35-and-under generation needs and wants in their place of business.

On Monday, Kurt will act as moderator for a panel discussion about creating a mentorship program at your club.  The panel will discuss mentoring as it relates to your management team and to your entire club team, and as it relates to interns and to students – your future club team.
