Program Information
Together with E-Z-GO, our partners at Jacobsen will be our host for this unique day of education. The Program will begin with some Industry Insights from each company’s President, David Withers and Kevin Holleran. The two travel the world representing their respective sectors of the club industry, so they offer a wealth of knowledge and information. We will then tour Jacobsen’s factory and distribution center as well as enjoy an equipment “ride and drive”. Charlotte is THE headquarters for Jacobsen, so to see first-hand what they are doing locally for what is a global industry, is quite an opportunity.

Following the tour and lunch, we will turn our focus to the State of the Industry as we cover everything and anything legislative affecting the club industry. Brad Steele will join us from the National Club Association to share with us all that he is seeing come across the Hill (see additional details in Education Information below). Chris Valauri and Charlie Rountree will piggyback on that with updates on what is going on locally in our two states. Jeff Magoon will then end our day with some Industry Resources so that attendees can leave feeling ready and able to take on all of our industry happenings.

"State of the Industry: National Legislative Update"
with Brad Steele, National Club Association Vice President of Government Relations & General Counsel

We all scratch our heads and sigh when thinking about the decisions being made by politicians in Washington, DC. The legislative process is often slow and its impact seems remote. Unfortunately, the policies put in place in our nation’s capital can have a significant impact on your club’s operations and success.

As the voice of the private club industry, the National Club Association (NCA) is actively engaged in protecting and defending the interest and well-being of private clubs with leaders in Washington. This presentation will provide an insider’s guide to what’s going on in Congress and how those on Capitol Hill are directly impacting your club’s day-to-day operations. This session will also provide an in-depth look at the new healthcare law and many other legislative and regulatory issues affecting private clubs.

The session’s learning objectives will be to:

  1. Inform club professionals about the legislative and regulatory measures that are now in place and how to comply with them.
  2. Inform club professionals about the impact pending federal legislative and regulatory measures will have on our industry.
  3. Provide club professionals the tools they need to help protect our industry’s rights with elected officials.
