Position Summary:
The Member Activities Director reports directly to the Club Manager. The professional in this position will design, develop, implement, market, and direct innovative programs for children, adults and families. This individual works closely with the department leaders to cultivate synergy in a team-based organization. Along with activities programming, this manager will assist with club communications including marketing flyers, e-mails and campaigns, updating the club website, and social media. He/She will be responsible for consistently exceeding members and guests expectations and maintaining high levels of member satisfaction. 

Qualifications:
The Member Activities Director should possess a background of excellence and a minimum of three to five years of related work experience with child- or youth-related programs and a minimum of one to three years of work experience with marketing and social media.  He/She should demonstrate progressive work experience and passion for the club industry. Attention to detail is a must, along with exceptional communication skills.  A college degree is preferred in Hospitality, Education, or similar field of study. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Plans, monitors and supervises adult, family, and children's activities with a particular focus on the children's programs.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates activity staff.
  • Works with appropriate department leaders to develop, implement, promote, and supervise age-appropriate programming to create an exciting calendar of events for all ages.
  • Prepares weekly e-mails and/or internal communication to members about upcoming events and coordinates with appropriate department leaders to compile said information.
  • Updates and posts on the Club's social media including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
  • Creates club flyers and advertisements for events and ensures that all promotional materials are current.
  • Organizes and runs summer camp programming.
  • Works with department leaders to coordinate programs for our Footprints on the Green charitable initiative.
  • Works closely with the pool staff to ensure a safe and clean poolside area.
  • Organizes and monitors the swim team program, including attending and assisting with swim meets.
  • Recruits, screens and trains activity staff and swim teach coaches. 
  • Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Club Manager and/or Corporate Director of Activities. 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related work experience in child- or youth-related programs or in a related setting.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years related work experience with marketing and social media.
  • Experience in educational program development and implementation.
  • A career path of progressive responsibility and stability. 
  • Impeccable and verifiable references.
  • College degree preferred in Education, Hospitality, Sports Management or similar field of study.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
