Position Summary:  
Governors Club is seeking an Assistant Clubhouse Manager for immediate placement.  The Assistant Clubhouse Manager plays an integral role in our efforts to promote a culture of service excellence. Key responsibilities include managing of our multiple dining outlets, Club Room, Nicklaus Room, Grab & Go, Men's Locker Room, and Summer Grill. As well as supervising banquet, special events, and other services provided within the food and beverage department.  The successful candidate will hire, train, schedule and supervise our front-line staff, along with overseeing payroll and budgeting expenses for the Front of the House areas.  Our Assistant Clubhouse manager participates in weekly staff meetings and communicates with other senior staff members daily.  Governors Club promotes a positive, rewarding, supportive and safe work environment.  This position is ideal for a candidate who wants to be on a set promotion track for Clubhouse Manager and one day, Assistant General Manager, and ultimately a GM/COO. 

Direct Reports: 
Assistant Managers, Service Captains, and front of the house team members

Committee Responsibilities: 
The Assistant Clubhouse Manager sits on the House Committee, along with assisting the Clubhouse Manager in managing the 300 member Wine Society. 
  

Qualifications: 

  • Must work to actively engage all members in the Club experience.  Is responsible to implement and promote the Clubs vision of service excellence
  • Needs to have a firm grasp of the labor cost and department operating expenses
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and retention of service staff
  • Ensures safety training and standards are maintained
  • Assists with Inventory and Cost Control systems on a monthly basis
  • Coordinates with Clubhouse Manager and Executive Chef on all food and beverage functions daily
  • Supervises all areas of food and beverage operations including dining rooms, special events, banquets and other services offered to our membership
  • Participates in our menu development process and trains staff on its content
  • Assists in implementing all standard operating procedures
  • Will assist Clubhouse Manager in creating yearly staff training program 
  • Generates weekly staffing schedule for dining areas and banquets

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality preferred
  • 2-3 years of Food and Beverage experience
  • Formal wine training, experience with wine programming preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with creating SOPs
  • ServSafe & TIPS certified 
  • Proven experience with developing and conducting training programs
  • Private club experience highly preferred

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to move about the dining room to service guests
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
